Once upon a time I thought I really wanted to be a nurse.

A busy summer has come and gone with many residents travelling to other places. Some stayed home and welcomed family and friends. Now, we are appreciating fall with its lovely green and gold colours in the landscape.

Grade 8 and 9 students from Marshall School were working hard this past week preparing a community park they've established for winter.

Living Sky School Division has developed new resources and supports to enhance treaty education in schools. Living Sky School Division is located in Treaty 6 territory and "we are all treaty people," a LSSD press release states.

At the Borden Friendship Club's potluck supper Sept. 28, special guests, members of a band called Carmel Country, played and sang many classic and old-time songs for close to two hours after the supper.

Last Sunday reminded us more of what autumn usually feels like. Oh well, if you did not get your fall yardwork done it is not like you did not have enough time to do it.

This province is home to many who like to read and many talented, award winning and recognizable writers. Saskatchewan Library Week will be celebrated in libraries across the province Oct. 17 to 24. This year the theme is "Read Local.

The plethora of fallen leaves is leaving no doubt we are into fall. But with warm temperatures adding to the beauty, we can enjoy this autumn season.

The fields are quiet now with most of the harvest complete. A few fields of canola remain in swath. Canola has had a difficult year and is not drying as it should. In the yards, fall clean up is underway and is taking some time.
