A busy summer has come and gone with many residents travelling to other places. Some stayed home and welcomed family and friends. Now, we are appreciating fall with its lovely green and gold colours in the landscape.
The gardens folks planted in the spring have done well this year. We are grateful to those in the community who have donated fresh produce to us.
A warm welcome to five new residents who have chosen to make their new home in Tower I. May they find plenty to enjoy as they enter into our activities.
Sept. 14, we were pleasantly entertained in the evening by a musical and inspirational program presented to us by Charlie and Carol Reed from Florida and Jim and May Schultz from Sonningdale. Charlie, a Methodist pastor and evangelist, played piano and led us in song. He recounted many interesting facts borrowed from historical trivia that amused us greatly and we very much enjoyed the evening.
Heartfelt sympathy to the family of Emma Nash who passed away recently.
Likewise to Velma Fisher in the loss of her sister. Velma is enjoying the comfort of a visit from her sister Lou Amos from Peers, Alta.
The evening of Sept. 14 was spent enjoying a birthday party celebrating the special days of those born in August and September. Entertaining with country and western old favourite tunes were Jon Sloan, Rus Fritz and Doreen Duchnitski, giving rise to a little dancing. Birthday cake, ice cream and sliced pears concluded the delightful evening. Happy birthday to Jim Parkinson, Muriel Johnson, Lillian Leduc, Alice Horn, Ruth Rerley, Barb Billiard and Angie Ewanowich born in August. Gerald Gutenberg, Lee Smith, Edwin Wells, Louis Johnson, Joan Bannerman, Danny Gueran and Celina Warness claim September wishes.
Many good wishes for a speedy recover to each person who is not well at this time. It is good to see Doreen Schneider home from the hospital and recuperating at home.
