The Town of Preeceville hosted a cultural day with many community members showcasing elements of the many cultures in and around the community.

I write to address the September 14 edition of the Preeceville Progress article 鈥淗ospital emergency and acute beds issues at Preeceville Hospital,鈥� which contained inaccuracies and incomplete information that I wish to clarify.

Preeceville School athletes have been working hard towards their goal of representing their school at all cross-country meets held this fall.

Starting the 2017-18 school year, Stephanie Lockhart and Chlorisa Erickson will be job sharing the role as Early Years Community Developer with Regional KidsFirst and the Good Spirit School Division.

Pat Sykes of Preeceville said she was too excited to sleep after discovering her August 25 Lotto Max ticket was a $100,000 Extra winner. 鈥淚 feel humbled and blessed to have won,鈥� she said. 鈥淚 was completely shocked.

Fall season is the time for many gardeners to be harvesting produce off their garden and a veggie exchange is a perfect outlet for gardeners to share any extra vegetables.

The largest pumpkin topped the scales at 100 pounds during the Preeceville largest vegetable contest at the Preeceville Legion Hall on September 23. Cayden and Jordyn Worobetz of Preeceville brought in the pumpkin to be weighed by Maureen Johnson.

Sturgis Nursery School kicked off its fun learning school year in a new location on September 20. The school's new location in the old Sturgis Elementary School allows students a larger space with more room to grow, said Erin Gregory, teacher.

The Mens鈥� Field Lacrosse National Championships took place in Saskatoon September 1-3, and included a number of local boys who played for Saskatchewan teams, said a parent.
