The village of Endeavour is gearing up for its Canada 150 celebrations with an old time picnic on September 3.

The Town of Preeceville has been declared a Dutch elm disease-free zone with no trees having the disease. “We have done some investigating but to date we have not discovered the disease in the town," said Lorlei Karcha, administrator.

Combines were rolling in the field harvesting 145 acres of oats that were seeded with the purpose of a fundraiser for the Sturgis Composite School playground equipment.

The Preeceville School was among 19 other Good Spirit School Division libraries that were open for a time during the summer.

The Sturgis and District Station House Museum hosted its annual windup that featured entertainment and clay oven-baked bread on August 27. "We made and cooked 60 loaves of bread in the outdoor clay oven," said Hazel Urbanoski, museum representative.

The art of a corn maze is designed with the idea of challenging individuals’ mental and physical abilities as they navigate through the twisting maze.

Trae Peterson of Sturgis expanded his hockey passion by playing on the 2009 Selects Hockey Development (SHD) program teams throughout the summer months.

The Sturgis Composite High School class of 1967 reunited after 50 years to reminisce and get reacquainted at Rawhides on July 15. The afternoon kicked off with a tour of the Sturgis Composite School.
