聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Sturgis Nursery School kicked off its fun learning school year in a new location on September 20.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The school's new location in the old Sturgis Elementary School allows students a larger space with more room to grow, said Erin Gregory, teacher. "I am looking forward to the new school year in a new space."
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There are six students enrolled in the three-year-old class: Lindy Romanchuk, Lane Townsend, Nate Johnson, Drae Peterson, Lakyn Seerey and Logan DeRuiter. There are six students registered in the four-year-old class: Jeremiah Galay, Maycee Johnson, Oliver Anaka, Jane Palaniuk, Austin Jansen and Hope Omelchuk.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Sturgis Kinettes sponsor the nursery school.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The students are attending class in the old Kindergarten room and indications are that they are enjoying the new location and a larger space to call their own.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 "My main goal that I want to focus on as a nursery school teacher is to create a fun, playful, learning environment where kids can come to learn basic pre-school skills," said Gregory.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The program installs some independence and social skills in young children, she said. They learn some basic skills that they will be using in Kindergarten and they also have the opportunity to make new friends.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 "As a nursery school teacher it is a very rewarding experience to see the progress they make from beginning to end,鈥 she said. 鈥淢y hope is that the kids enjoy coming to school as much as I am enjoy having them.鈥
