The Parkland Racing Association is down to their final race weekend of the season after another successful turnout Sunday at the Yellowhead Speedway. Fifteen racers turned out Sunday to take in some ideal race weather.

For the second time in four years, it is Miller Time in Regina. At the start of the season it was Marshall time, but that came to an end late last week when the Riders decided it was time to make a change.

You may recall I have mentioned Finland is a hotspot of the sport of disc golf. Well Discmania Golf Discs are certainly part of the reason. The company has a rather broad range of discs and this week I am offering a look at three of those.

The local football schedule has been released. Teams include the Pee Wee Gridders, Atom Gridders and Junior Raiders. The first home games for all three teams is on Saturday at the Yorkton Regional High School field. The Atoms host the Lions at 11 a.

Deer Park Municipal Golf Course hosted its annual Men's and Women's Club Championship over the weekend. On the men's side, Brent Brown recaptured the title with a two-day score of 141. He shot under par both days.

Matt Kustra of Yorkton will be trading in his yellow and black Sacred Heart football uniform for the red and white of the Notre Dame Hounds.

Opening early next month, Yorkton will have its first shop for used sports gear available to the public when the Yorkton Sports Bank opens its doors the public on Sept. 6, said urban youth sport co-ordinator, Amber Zaharia.

Matthijs Wenning of the Yorkton Regional High School was among the 250-plus competitors who took part in The Health Foundation's 5th Annual Charity Road Race took over the City's neighbourhood streets very very early on a Sunday morning.

There isn't much time left in the traditional 2011 summer camping season but if Shawn Frankfurt and the Broken Arrow Archery Club work it right, it could be a pretty good ending to it.
