The 44 skaters who are members of the revived Norquay Figure Skating Club were on the ice on February 28 for their year-end carnival.

The Canada Post program which provided a share of $56,000 to the Kamsack Skate Park committee last year, wants groups to apply for a portion of the $1.1 million the program will distribute this year.

The two-person teams of Jim Beauchamp and Ernie Welykholowa and Isabel Ritchie and Bernice Kropodra won the snooker and whist tournaments respectively played Friday at the Kamsack Seniors’ Centre.

Three Kamsack residents took home the top three prizes at the 32 nd annual Tolstoi Poker Derby held by the Kamsack Sno-Drifters snowmobile club. Held March 12, the derby attracted 70 riders, said Gary Clark, club president.

By attending a pancake breakfast at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church in Kamsack on February 28, Kamsack residents raised $900 for the Kinsemen Telemiracle.
