June 25 was a day to remember for Jordan Fransoo. The North Battleford product and current Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL) defenceman was taken in the 7th round (186th overall) by the Ottawa Senators in the NHL draft.

Hugh Carr, a Notre Dame Hounds pitcher, is 小蓝视频 inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame. Born Hugo Raymond Dombowsky, Oct. 13, 1929, he died Hugh Carr, Nov. 16, 1972. He grew up in Avonlea.

Make up games set stage for playoffs

The Battlefords Ladies' Fastball League was in action three nights this week, making up games to tie up the regular season, with playoffs slated to start Monday. Monday night the Unity Bantams 2 slugged out an 8-3 victory over the Survivors.

They lost on the road but won huge at home. On June 22, the Marysburg Royals senior baseball team travelled to Saskatoon to take on the Saskatoon Blue Jays. The game started well as Marysburg jumped out to a 5-2 lead after two innings.
