Wildlife federation scores the take

A New Year's Eve jam session and potluck lunch was held Dec. 31 in Maymont. Thanks to all who battled the cold. Those who were there had a an enjoyable evening. Happy New Year, everyone from the village of Maymont.

Technique creates strong conceptual images

The new exhibition in the Window Salon of the Chapel Gallery features drawings by two artists using the blind contour technique. This technique for developing hand-eye communication became popular in the 1940s.

Concert was a jingle all the way

The Neilburg Composite School Christmas concert was held Dec. 15 in the gymnasium. Food for the needy was collected at the door. The program began with a welcome from MCs Kristian Hiscock and Wyatt Marshall.

Story:Paynton Volunteer Fire Dept. raised the roof, and a little cash on New Year's Eve with a small intimate and interactive gathering of local volunteers.

Changes to village administration

Jan. 3, the young people are back to school. We wish them success and happiness in their studies. The community was busy with family parties throughout the holiday season.

Pageant has a Dr. Seuss twist

Manitou Evangelical Free Church held their annual Christmas festivities Dec. 19. Carol and Amy Graham, a mother/daughter duo, teamed up to write Bethlemazoo in the rhyming style of Dr. Seuss. This was presented in the sanctuary.

Happy New Year everyone! Sorry for no news over the Christmas break, but I decided to take the two weeks off along with the school kids. There wasn't a lot to report after the Christmas concerts.
