Manitou Evangelical Free Church held their annual Christmas festivities Dec. 19.
Carol and Amy Graham, a mother/daughter duo, teamed up to write Bethlemazoo in the rhyming style of Dr. Seuss. This was presented in the sanctuary.
Ethel Borja, Jaiden Graham, Dianne Dimaano and Hannah O'Grady were the welcomers. Amy Graham was the narrator. Keelan Graham was an able town crier. Mrs. Mayor was played by Ria Wiens and her husband, Mr. Mayor, was Jack Biensch. Bailey and Coleman were Noozin and Naddle. Reed Putnam portrayed Nim. Of course the preacher, Mel Letkeman was himself! Carson Peters was the baker and Alisdair Ramsay-Mackenzie was the grocer, with a missing wheel of cheese. Shannon Putnam was a dancer and Brooklyn Krahn was the teacher. Other roles were the innkeeper, the prince (Daniel); the florist (Teja) and the mother (Brenna).
After the pageant, a time of fellowship was held in the Christian Education Wing, allowing everyone to wish each other the best of the season.
Michael Schwaiger is one of three participants on a missions trip to the small 小蓝视频 American country of Surinam. He has gone for three weeks as part of his training at Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute in Camrose, Alta.
The Neilburg Seniors held their regular monthly games day Jan. 3 at the Friendship Korner. Connie Lane and Vonnie Rutherford teamed up to win the A side in the shuffleboard tournament. Lois Cammidge and Irene Ducherer were the runners up. On the B side, Mary Graham and Marrian Graham were the victors with Les Christensen and Marjorie Nattress in second spot. Marlene Spence was the lucky raffle prize winner. In the afternoon, after a soup and sandwich luncheon, cribbage was played. Dorothy Harris and Rosemarie Mokuruk had the high hands. John McGarry and Garry Poppleton were the low players.
Manitou Evangelical Free Church held a pancake breakfast Jan. 2 to kick off the Sunday School program for the New Year.
