For the second year in a row the Yorkton Terriers have come up short in their quest for a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League championship.

It's been a banner year for the Yorkton Minor Hockey Association (YMHA), and to prove it, they are going to be hanging a few more of them up in the rafters of Kinsmen Arena, said Kelly Maddin, president of the YMHA.

Twenty five athletes from the Yorkton Taekwondo club were registered at the 2011 Provincials in Moose Jaw on April 2. The event was hosted by Kim's Taekwondo in Moose Jaw.

One of these days the kid is probably going to be glad that he changed his mind.

The gymnasium at Sacred Heart High School was filled for two days over the weekend as gymnasts from all over Saskatchewan took part in the Yorkton Springer's Gymnastics Invitational Meet.

Anyone keeping track of the year-to-year happenings of the Junior 'A' Yorkton Terriers hockey club had a pretty good idea of all that could have taken place this past Sunday evening.

The Yorkton Regional High School will be hosting a senior badminton playoff tonight in their gym. Both high school seniors will be playing. Game times are 4 p.m.

The last game of the volleyball tournament was supposed to be a really close match between what was supposed to be the two best teams that competed that weekend. Turns out that it wasn't even close.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League championship came down to a final deciding game in the best-of-seven final. The game was scheduled for Tuesday night in LaRonge, but results were not available at press time.

When the University of New Brunswick (UNB) won the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) University Cup March 27, a familiar face to local hockey fans was among those celebrating the 4-0 win over McGill University.
