The Yorkton Regional High School will be hosting a senior badminton playoff tonight in their gym. Both high school seniors will be playing. Game times are 4 p.m., and will go for approximately two hours, said Randy Schuster, head coach of the YRHS badminton team.
The Good Spirit School Division is holding part II of its elementary schools track meet this Friday at the Gallagher Centre Flexihall. Over 700 people were on hand for last week's Showcase meet, also at the Flexihall. The top performers in each category advance to this week's meet. The events will start running at 4:30 p.m., and is expected to go as late as 9:30 p.m., said Jason Trost, GSSD employee. Top performing students from the Showcase meet will compete Friday in a number of events, including high jump, long jump, shot put, 50-metre relay and the 600-metre relay.
The teams in the Yorkton volleyball club are getting ready for a busy weekend ahead with volleyball provincials which are scheduled to be held in Saskatoon.
The Yorkton Minor Hockey Association is getting ready to honour the various accomplishments of its many teams players tonight. They are holding their annual СÀ¶ÊÓƵ at the Gallagher Centre in the hall which normally occupied by the Yorkton Curling Club. Seven of the minor hockey teams won prestigious championships and they are expecting to unveil commemorative banners. The night begins at 6:45 p.m. Dinner will also be served.
