Rural Saskatchewan people and First Nations people have often found themselves at odds, although it's not as bad as it used to be. The first time I explored this issue in depth was for a book entitled "Writing off the Rural West.

Remembering a futurist from the past

It would be more than a decade ago now that I listened to speaker Dr. Lowell Catlett, a futurist and economist from New Mexico State University. It was one of those presentations which left a rather last mark with a then much younger journalist.

If you were in Manor on Sept. 23, chances are you were wondering what exactly was going on. Manor School held their annual Terry Fox Run in an effort to commemorate a national icon and raise funds for cancer research.

Carlyle Elementary Community School will be hosting MCT's production of The Tortoise Versus the Hare on October 24th - 28th. Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT), based in Missoula, Montana, is the nation's largest touring children's theatre.

Two beautiful days accompanied the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) Provincial Golf Championship on Sept. 23 and 24. More than 120 golfers took to the Kenosee Golf Course to showcase their skills against provincial competitors.

Crisp fall days have arrived, leaves have turned to gold, and the frost is sometimes on the pumpkin. Fall activities are returning in earnest, including those at our church. For example, Bible Study will begin on October 5.
