Elm Springs Ascension of our Lord Romanian Orthodox Church located just north of Wood Mountain celebrated its feast day on May 25.

Seeding is advancing quickly in the province thanks to warm, dry weather. Producers now have 60 per cent of the provincial crop in the ground, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture for the week of May 16.

The Assiniboia Livestock Auction held its regular cull cow and bull sale on May 24 with 368 head sold. No heiferettes were sold. D1 and D2 cows dropped slightly selling between $1.05 to $1.20 per lb.

The third annual Justinsane Barbie Car Races wrapped up on May 7 raising over $3,000. This year, the funds were СÀ¶ÊÓƵ collected for the Mossbank Recreation complex. The event was hosted by Ardill Hotel at its new location at Ardill Hill.

This June a new art exhibit is coming to the Kay Cristo Room at the Assiniboia and District Public Library sponsored by the Assiniboia and District Arts Council. Artist Debbie McCrea from Mankota will have her works on display for the month of June.

Rockglen officially launched its tourist season with doughgod day and the opening of its tourism centre on May 26. Doughgod day traditionally opens Rockglen tourism.
