小蓝视频east College鈥檚 university classes are now open for registration and it announced on May 24 that some students will be getting some extra assistance.
鈥溞±妒悠礶ast College is also offering a $1,000 Entrance Bursary for the first 10 full-time students registered in our university classes,鈥 stated Dr. Louise Legare, VP Education for 小蓝视频east College. Students accepted to the University of Regina can now register for 小蓝视频east College鈥檚 university classes via the U of R鈥檚 website. The college advises students who need registration assistance to contact student services advisors.
小蓝视频east College and the University of Regina are making post-secondary education more accessible to students in 小蓝视频east Saskatchewan. Starting this fall, students will be able to take selected first-year classes which lead to completion of the liberal arts certificate or the classes can be used towards a bachelor degree in arts, education, health studies, pre-social work or the diploma in liberal arts.
鈥淔irst year face-to-face University of Regina classes will be offered for the 2017-2018 academic year in Weyburn or Estevan. Students will also be able to access the face-to-face classes from other campus locations or from a personal home computer. We are proud to collaborate with the University of Regina in this capacity,鈥 said Legare.
Students can supplement the in-person classes with a large variety of online and live-streamed options that may also be applied to other programs at the university. Live viewing of the college鈥檚 classes will be put into place at all of 小蓝视频east College鈥檚 rural locations.
The college is making accessible university classes to students who are not located in Weyburn or Estevan. 鈥淥ffering University-level courses and programs serves the communities we live in and may save students approximately $10,000 by taking their first year of University studies at home,鈥 said Legare.
聽鈥淚t is a privilege to work with the College,鈥 says Dr. Harvey King, Director of the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Regina. 鈥淲e plan to continue building our relationship with 小蓝视频east College to bring University programs to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity.鈥
