I feel compelled to comment on a recent article in the Humboldt Journal regarding former St. Mary's Villa enriched housing tenants. Saskatoon Health Region has been compared to a slum landlord, who gives a tenant one month warning before "eviction.

If you've ever organized anything - a luncheon, a party, a theatrical production, a hockey game, whatever - in Humboldt, you'll have come across a phenomenon I like to call "Last-minute Humboldt.

I would like to respond to the letter to the editor from the staff at St. Mary's Villa (Humboldt Journal, February 29). My mother was one of the seniors who was evicted (yes, evicted) from the enriched housing part of the Villa.

Headlines grab attention. That is their function in the newspaper. There is even a clich茅 in the English language whereby an event of great importance is said to be "making headlines.

It didn't take long for the Canadiain Wheat Board shake up to have a ripple effect. Late last week Viterra, formerly the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, made it be known there are suitors out there looking to buy the Regina based grain giant.

This week I've spent a lot of time thinking about the blessings of my life and I came to the conclusion that, of all earth's treasures, I count friends to be among the most valuable.

In reference to the letter "Bad publicity undeserved" (Humboldt Journal, February 29) I beg to differ. The statement that the CO issue was dragged up again after 14 months makes me shudder - shame on you.

I am excited by the simple things in life. I am always delighted to receive a piece of mail with a hand-written address.
