In what turned out to be a gorgeous night for baseball, the Alexander Men's Wear Yorkton Junior Cardinals plastered the Melville Bison 14-3 at Pirie Field in Melville Sunday evening in what was their first night under the stars in 小蓝视频 East Senior B

All it took was a little bit of planning. It didn't work out well before apparently, but it sure did this time. "We planned it really well," offers Karl Niedzielski, co-event co-ordinator.

The Yamalube Schrader's SMX Racing Team took its first number-one national plate with Denaye Giroux of Yorkton 小蓝视频 crowned the Women's National West champion. "We couldn't be more excited for Denaye," says team owner and manager Jackie Maffenbeier.

The Cab Clothing Yorkton Regional High School Female Athlete of the Month for May is Lea Burnard. Burnard is a regular in archery with the YRHS and travelled with the team to Florida back in October. Her last two tournaments went very well for her.

The 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic had another very strong year with golfers raising $105,894 in pledges. The funds will purchase equipment for 17 facilities in 12 local communities in Sunrise Health Region.

The Boston Bruins have a weird way of celebrating and they also have very expensive taste. The NHL squad deserves full marks for what they did not long ago in Vancouver.

The Yorkton PeeWee Cardinals (team 2) took part in a four-team tournament hosted by Melville on June 18.

The Yorkton Cardinals continue to struggle with only one win on the week, leaving the team with a Western Major Baseball League record of 4-14 and a winning percentage of .222, worst in the league as of Monday morning.

The Yorkton Jr. Cardinals play three games this week. On Tuesday, they are scheduled to play the Yorkton Yankees. Results were not available in time for press.

Robyn Torrie and Karen Preston were two of the locals who took part in the Health Foundation's Learn to Run clinic last Tuesday afternoon outside the Yorkton Regional High School.
