Members of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church at Kamsack celebrated the beginning of Advent on November 29 with Rev. Archdeacon Kim Salo and Rev. Nancy Brunt in attendance.

A home on Hudson Bay Avenue was destroyed by fire during the night of December 4/5. The Kamsack fire brigade was alerted to a possible structure fire at 142 Hudson Bay Saturday at 12:45 a.m., said Jim Pollock, fire chief.

Members of the Heart and Home Quilt Club in Kamsack wrapped up their season last week by showing one another their work and by preparing the nine quilt tops they made for the Victoria鈥檚 Quilts program.

By Doug Elsasser Draw five in the Duck Mountain Super League of men鈥檚 curling was played December 8 in Norquay where all three sheets of ice were occupied. The game between Terry Dennis of Canora and hometown favourite Ken Newell was a brief affair.

Although the board and staff at the Duck Mountain Ski Hill had hoped to open the facility this winter by this week, the relatively mild season has convinced them to wait until Boxing Day to open.

The Parkland Midget AA Lions female hockey team split a pair of weekend games against its Regina counterparts in the 小蓝视频 Saskatchewan Female Hockey League (SSFHL) on the weekend. On December 12, the Lions hosted the Regina Capitals in Churchbridge.

A total of 25 trophies belonging to hunters with the Kamsack branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation were measured during the branch鈥檚 annual measuring event on December 7.

Students of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute are involved in several special events in the days before their Christmas holidays and several of them were designed to help fill Christmas hampers.
