聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Students of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute are involved in several special events in the days before their Christmas holidays and several of them were designed to help fill Christmas hampers.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Grades 7 to 12 students enjoyed a school dance on December 10 when the price of admission was non-perishable items for the hampers, said Barb Tetoff, a member of the staff.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 After all the food is distributed among the hampers, they will be distributed to families which have students attending either the KCI or Victoria School, Tetoff said. About 20 such hampers were made and distributed by the students last year.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Students are selling 鈥渃andygrams鈥 at noon each day, she said. For 25 cents, a student can send a candycane to another person in the school and the money will be used to make purchases for the hampers.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 To help generate a Christmas spirit, each day this week had a different theme. Yesterday (December 16) was Spam day when students were encouraged to bring a can of Spam for the hampers; today (Thursday) is 鈥渨ear red and green鈥 day, and tomorrow is to be a formal day when in addition to wearing formal clothing to school, all the students and staff will be treated to a dinner and short concert.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Students, in groups of twos and threes, are 小蓝视频 encouraged to participate in the school鈥檚 鈥渄oor decorating contest,鈥 which is to continue to the end of January and include a New Year鈥檚 theme.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The contest will help brighten up the hallways during the dark days of January,鈥 Tetoff explained.
