The extreme cold warning is over for southeast Saskatchewan.

Members of the Weyburn Wrestling Club went to Winnipeg to compete at the Wama Next Gen聽wrestling tournament, and a number of the athletes came home with medals.

Members of the Weyburn Arts Council met on a cold Thursday evening to start making new clay gnomes, to prepare for a new season of 鈥淩ollin鈥� with the Gnomies鈥�.

A man was arrested in relation to a shooting reported at a Weyburn residence, where one man was injured by a shot in a foot.

Visibility on the highways is reduced in many parts of southeast Saskatchewan on Monday morning, and an extreme cold warning is still in effect.

The students and staff of Weyburn's Assiniboia Park Elementary School had a "welcome back" dance on Friday afternoon, to welcome them all back from the Christmas-New Year's holiday break, with such favourites as the Macarena and the YMCA songs proving winners with the kids and adults alike.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings lost two home games over the weekend, as they were edged out 7-5 by the Yorkton Terriers on Saturday, and 5-2 by the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Friday

Dale Paslawski of the Weyburn Wildlife Federation made a presentation on wildlife that can mostly be found in the Weyburn or surrounding area, to clients at the Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop on Thursday. He had furs from coyote, fox, wolf. mink and a variety of antlers, along with tanned buckskin from a deer as he spoke about each animal and where they might be found.

All normal operations at the Weyburn General Hospital resumed on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13, including reopening of the Emergency Department.

The STF noted that if the government鈥檚 intransigence continues, additional job action will follow the strike on Jan.聽16.
