Weyburn fastball team has strong start to season

The Weyburn White Lightning ladies fastball team had a strong start to their 2022 season, with a 10-4 win over the Odessa Country Steelers on Sunday for the Borderline Ladies Fastball League. In the other games on Sunday, the Weyburn Shehawks defeated Pangman 11-9, and Ceylon won 24-4 over the Midale Knockouts.

Weyburn students showcase the 'Love of Dance' in recital

The dance students from Weyburn dance studio Marley's Dance Effex put on a season-end recital on Sunday afternoon in the Cugnet Centre, with solos and duets starting the afternoon off, then groups performed for a full house. The dance studio collected food items for the Salvation Army's food bank at the door as admission.

All the thrills of bull-riding were in evidence for the senior bull-riding event at the Weyburn High School Rodeo on Saturday evening, with the first half-dozen or so 小蓝视频 bucked off before any cowboys were able to stay the full eight seconds to register a score. No one was injured, in spite of how it looks in some of the photos, and there were some who stuck it out to earn a score for their bull ride.

The Weyburn High School Rodeo was back on Saturday and Sunday, after having to be cancelled the previous two years. The mornings of both days were for the Grades 6-8 age levels, competing in events from barrel-racing to break-away roping, ribbon roping, goat tying, team roping and bull riding, with athletes converging on Weyburn from throughout Saskatchewan.

During the month of May, Weyburn and area classrooms will come visit the Credit Union Spark Centre and make pinch pot monsters as part of the May Clay program. This program is made possible by the generous support of the Weyburn Young Fellows. The first week of May Clay Monsters is done as of the class on Friday, and these critters will dry over the weekend before 小蓝视频 fired and put on display in the Art Gallery.

Shoppers were lined up outside the Weyburn Curling Rink for the opening of the Family Place's giant garage sale on Tuesday, and flocked inside to find deals on thousands of household items. This was the first time since before COVID this huge sale was able to be held, raising funds for the Family Place in Weyburn.

Calvary Baptist Church in Weyburn held their trade show, bake and garage sale on Saturday, in spite of dire warnings for a heavy snowstorm to hit the area. The storm never materialized for Weyburn, enabling the event to proceed, raising funds for church ministries and projects.
