OCTG demand will follow rig count once inventory burns off

Washington – The Keystone XL Pipeline proposal, as it stands right now, is dead. President Barack Obama on Nov. 6 formally rejected the project, which has been under consideration for over seven years.

Estevan – Enform Saskatchewan criss-crossed the province in mid-October, presenting another series of lunch and learn sessions. The presentations took place in Weyburn on Oct. 13, Estevan Oct. 14, Carlyle Oct, 15, Swift Current Oct.

Estevan – Turnbull Excavating of Estevan only has about one quarter of its business in the oilpatch, but it has still felt the downturn over the last year. As such, the company has done a few things to broaden its horizons.

Weyburn – Panther Drilling of Weyburn had half of its four-rig fleet working from June until the end of September, but the low rig count province-wide has come home to roost for them, with just one rig at work by mid-October.
