SaskPower and the provincial government will take more time before making a decision on a second phase of a carbon capture project at Boundary Dam Power Station.

Changes are СÀ¶ÊÓƵ made to the inner workings at Energy and Resources, an extension portfolio within the Ministry of the Economy. On the surface, these changes are subtle, but no less important.

The Estevan Oilfield Technical Society (OTS) used their annual general meeting on Nov. 3 to take care of some routine business, and to discuss a number of promotional initiatives.

After year of negotiations, Estevan Meter Services Ltd., has purchased Lampman-based Acutech Systems Ltd. The purchase was part of a deal between the two southeast oilpatch companies. The deal officially began on Oct. 31, 2015.

The Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) expects drilling activity to remain stable in Saskatchewan, according to its 2016 Canadian Drilling Activity Forecast, which was released on Tuesday.

The political and business proponents of SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Unit 3 carbon capture pilot project mounted an aggressive defense against criticisms levelled at the project by New Democratic Party opponents this past week.

Now that colder weather is descending on the province, the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure sent out a message last week, indicating their major construction season is winding to a conclusion.

The 2015 harvest is virtually complete heading into the final week of October, according to information released by the Ministry of Agriculture. About 97 per cent of the crop is now in the bins, up from 91 per cent the previous week.

The mid-summer flow of crude oil through Canada’s transportation systems gave a clear indication that the oilpatch is far from dead.
