Estevan and area residents will have their annual chance to get flipped, turned and spun beginning Monday. The popular Estevan Fair is scheduled to begin Monday at the city's exhibition grounds.

As expected, this year's Relay for Life brought forth a wide variety of emotions on and around the Estevan Comprehensive School track on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. At times it was funny - the Mr. Relay pageant was a hit.

At long last it has returned. No, not the CFL season, we're talking about the return of the Golden Garbage Can competition. Admit it, you have Can fever. OK, so maybe you don't.

Although I am not nearly as versed in the art of the rant and observation as my friend Norm, I will do my best to pinch hit for him while he enjoys a week off.

Given Estevan's history in the Golden Garbage competition, you might be justified in calling Lynn Chipley overly optimistic.

Rider Pride is infectious and compelling. The residents of Saskatchewan and elsewhere in Canada and around the globe can have fun with it. It's not political or religious although it can border on the latter on occasion.
