One suspect in White Bear death arrested, other still at large

WHITE BEAR FIRST NATION — One of the suspects in the death of Talon Lonethunder was arrested Saturday.

On Dec. 7, Saskatchewan RCMP located and arrested Jeremy Whitebear at a residence on White Bear First Nation, according to a news release distributed by the RCMP on Dec. 8. Whitebear was wanted by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes for one count of second-degree murder under the Criminal Code in relation to the death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder.

Whitebear was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Dec. 9.

Saskatchewan RCMP continue to work to locate 26-year-old Dwayne Maxie. Maxie is described as approximately 6’2” tall and 250 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair.  He also goes by the name ‘Georgie’.

“If you see Maxie, do not approach him,” RCMP said in a news release.

“Report all sightings and information about his whereabouts to Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.”

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact them immediately at 310-RCMP.
