Two men charged, on the run, in connection with death at White Bear

Jeremy Whitebear has been charged with second-degree murder, while Dwayne Maxie has been charged with manslaughter.

WHITE BEAR FIRST NATIONS - As a result of a continued investigation, the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes unit has identified and charged two men in relation to the death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder on the White Bear First Nations. 

In a news release issued Thursday night, the RCMP said Jeremy Whitebear, age 22, from White Bear First Nations, is charged with one count of second-degree murder. Dwayne Maxie, 26, also from White Bear, is charged with one count of manslaughter.

Arrest warrants for Whitebear and Maxie have been issued. The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes unit continues to work to locate and arrest Whitebear and Maxie, and asks members of the public to report all sightings and information about their whereabouts.

According to the RCMP, Whitebear is described as approximately 5’10” tall and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, as well as multiple tattoos, including a cross on the side of his face, the word “faded” on his forehead, Roman numerals on his left hand and script on his left wrist. 

Maxie is described as approximately 6’2” tall and weighing 250 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. 

The RCMP says that anyone who sees Whitebear or Maxie should not approach them. Report all sightings and information about their whereabouts to the Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or .

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate and asks anyone with information to contact them immediately at 310-RCMP. Updates will be provided when available. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, the RCMP says it will notify the public.

No other details were immediately released.

According to the initial news release, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 3, the Carlyle RCMP received a report of an injured individual at a residence on the White Bear First Nations. Officers immediately responded and located a deceased man. He has been identified as a 33-year-old from Coronach, and his family has been notified.
