With the snows of winter upon us, the community of Wawota is warming up the season with their second annual Wawota Winter Festival. The one day event was first introduced last year with rave reviews.

While there have been many consumer-generated ideas in terms of purchasing patterns, none are more intriguing than the idea of focusing on purchasing food produced locally in order to reduce one's carbon footprint.

Carlyle United Church will be hosting a 'Blue Christmas' service at the church again this year. The service, which is held to support those who find themselves grieving for whatever reason, is delivered as a non-denomination service.

Hockey season is upon us once again. The Carlyle Bantam team is ready and excited to start the season with good times and good hockey. Taking on the coaching roles this year are Fritz Sauter and Clarke Lemieux.

I remember my arrival and first day in Carlyle quite clearly, though that isn't particularly surprising, as seeing it was only just over two years ago now.
