Dear Editor I don't know the year this homily was written, but in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic, it seems more relevant than ever. Those of us living in Saskatchewan, on a farm or in a small town like Rabbit Lake, are even more blessed.

鈥淐ome on, ring those bells鈥︹�� Does anyone else remember these words to a Christmas song? I recall them often, but this week the bouncy melody has acquired new words.

The world is awash in crude oil, causing one of the largest oil shocks in history. This is happening as Saudi Arabia and Russia began an oil price war just as the COVID-19 crisis caused the greatest demand destruction in decades.

Dear Editor The cartoon in last week鈥檚 paper, 鈥淐ovey,鈥� had me wanting to redraw or add a picture of 鈥淢other Earth smiling for the breath of fresh air, the reprieve from all the pollution.

Jesus made an interesting comment, recorded in the latter part of John 16.33: 鈥淚n this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.鈥� At different times we have probably all had trouble.

Aren鈥檛 you fed up yet with COVID-19? I know I am. I鈥檓 fed up experiencing life under the pandemic, and even more fed up covering it. Every day it鈥檚 depressing COVID-19 in the news. If you feel depressed about the situation, know you鈥檙e not alone.

Dear Editor With all the turmoil going on about COVID-19, it is easy to forget life goes on and other things are happening. The Conservatives are electing a new leader. This is an opportunity to have a say in who that leader will be.
