They may just be learning the game, but two teams of flag football players put on a good show last week. The St. Dominic Chargers hosted the St. Augustine Hawks in a Horizon Central Athletic Association flag football game on September 21.

It was another weekend of Battlefords North Stars action, but the team was left searching for their first win of the 2010-11 season.

After a 0-4-1-1, the North Stars players expected changes to the roster, as Ken Pearson continues to look for a winning combination and Tuesday a deal was made official.

In what was a somewhat heated weekend in Yorkton, the Battlefords Midgets Stars came home with one of four possible points.

The Battlefords North Stars looked to get in the win column, as they hosted Weyburn Friday and were in Kindersley Saturday, but ynfortunately they are still winless in the 2010-11 season.

They started the scoring early and just didn't quit. In the Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawks football team's first home action of the season, they gave the ball to the LP Miller Bears of Nipawin on the opening kick-off.

The North Battleford Comprehensive High School Junior Vikings football team made the most of their one home game this season, as they squeaked out a 14-6 win.

The players are on the ice and the crop is off. One of the Battlefords North Stars major fundraising projects came to an end for the year, albeit, behind the expected schedule, the crop for the Battlefords North Stars Ag.

It's volleyball season in the region and Maidstone was once again the hub of activity. Sr. Mega-Volley, the massive volleyball tournament hosted by Maidstone High School every September began Thursday and finished up at 11:28 p.m. Saturday night.

Thursday marked the final night of the regular season schedule for the North Battleford Men's Touch Football League and six of the eight teams were in action. Last week, teams were trying to solidify their spots in the standings.
