Sports is a realm in which the rules for human touch are different than in real life. We can all agree that grown men are not normally tapping each other on the buttocks, but in a football game, this is the norm.

There is some good news to report about the future plans of one of the graduating Battlefords North Stars players. It was announced Thursday that centre Rylan Nivon has committed to Concordia Thunder, based in Edmonton.

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Broncos turned a lot of heads this season with the success they had with a young lineup.

It was a banner season for the Battlefords North Stars, but one that ended much earlier than anticipated. The COVID-19 pandemic wiped out both the North Stars' title hopes in 2020, as well as their annual end-of-season banquet.

HUMBOLDT — It was youth and potential versus experience when the Humboldt Broncos met the Flin Flon Bombers in the first round of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs.

Curling season has come to a premature end for Twin Rivers Curling Club. The club announced Monday they have suspended all play for the remainder of the season, in a post on their Facebook page.

The Adam Herold Legacy Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2020-21 Hockey and Leadership Development Program and is adding an additional community for the next season.

The team of Robyn Silvernagle will have a new look in 2020. Both Silvernagle and Jessie Hunkin are returning but two new players are joining: Kristen Streifel and Dayna Demers.
