Spring seeding has finally begun! It is good to see the farming process begin anew. Some late rainfall has delayed seeding, but a few are reporting having some acres planted.

We hope all mothers enjoyed Mother's Day. A feature of the day was a Mother's Day brunch held in Waseca Hall and sponsored by the Waseca 100th Anniversary Committee. Many families attended to enjoy a time of visiting as well as a delicious meal.

Wet weather delays seeding

Seeding preparations are not yet general, even though we are almost in mid-May. Fields are very wet. Leaves are beginning to come out on the trees. The crocus season is about over for another year. Mother's day has been celebrated for another time.

Saskatoon Opera will be returning to the Battlefords this Saturday as special guests at a benefit fundraiser for the continuing restoration of the historic Battleford Opera House.
Games day winners declared

Games day winners declared

The Neilburg Seniors' Center was a hive of activity April 4 when the regular games day was held. Marjorie Nattress and Mary Graham were the A side winners on the shuffleboard table. Edna Jeffrey and Marlene Washenfelder came in second.

Spring tea shared with care home guests

April 30, the Borden Care Home Auxiliary held a spring tea in the care homewith a few dropping in for lunch. Gerbera daisy door prizes went to Dot Buswell, Shirley Jacobsen and Gail Schoenroth.
