Saskatoon police use Tazer after man tries disarming officer

Police were trying to arrest a man when another man confronted the officers and tried disarming an officer.

SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested a man after a conducted energy weapon [CEW] was deployed Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were attempting to arrest a man at about 2:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Fairmont Drive when a 37-year-old man approached and physically confronted the officers. There was a struggle and the 37-year-old man assault two officers and tried to disarm one. As a result, police used a CEW and he was taken into custody.

Charges are currently pending and the deployment of the CEW will be reviewed in accordance with SPS policy.
