Three recoveries, 14 in hospital

HUMBOLDT — One Humboldt family has been using their access to a 3-D printer to make and donate ear savers for masks during the pandemic.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced tightened travel restrictions for northern residents Thursday, but the move caught community leaders near La Ronge off guard.

A dozen is hospital, five recoveries

Manitoba's COVID-19 situation appears to be dying down. One new case of the disease was reported by provincial authorities, along with one recovered person - and no new cases have been reported in the north since April 7.

Health Minister Jim Reiter was joined by chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab to announce 23 more positive cases of COVID-19 in northern Saskatchewan, along with an outbreak in a Prince Albert Hospital.

Ten in hospital, two more recoveries

MUENSTER — Just because the St. Peter’s Chorus can’t get together physically doesn’t mean they can’t sing for the world. After seeing videos of a few virtual choirs online, Manny Lefebvre, the chorus’ tech guru, was inspired to try it himself.

There were four new cases of COVID-19 detected in Manitoba May 1, according to provincial officials. None of those cases were located in the Northern Health Region (NHR). Only three cases have been detected in the NHR since the outbreak began.
