It will be a quiet year on chuckwagon race tracks throughout the northwest region.

The entire Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Racing season has been suspended for 2020, with a view to return to action in 2021.

The CPCA confirmed the suspension in a news release Friday.

鈥淭he CPCA explored many options however with the COVID-19 pandemic, there are too many uncertainties so with a heavy heart we have had to suspend the 2020 season until 2021. We felt we needed to do our part to PROTECT our staff, contestants, fans and COMMUNITY. We would like to thank all of our loyal sponsors, fans and followers for 小蓝视频 so understanding while we made this difficult decision.鈥

CPCA chuckwagon racing is an annual tradition in northwest Saskatchewan. A number of meets had been scheduled for this year including at Onion Lake, Little Pine, Poundmaker, Turtleford and Lloydminster.

But the chuckwagon schedule had already taken a massive hit with the announcement of several event cancellations. The biggest cancellation was of this year鈥檚 Calgary Stampede, including the marquee chuckwagon racing event of the season the Rangeland Derby. 聽

Last week, the World Professional Chuckwagon Association, who had included a race meet in Saskatoon, June 4-7 as part of the schedule this year, has also cancelled its entire 2020 Pro Tour season.
