Chris Balyski was voted in as a new councillor for the Town of Preeceville during the town's byelection held on September 18. There were 252 voters, with Balyski receiving 111 votes.

The Norquay and Sturgis combined senior girls鈥 volleyball team hosted a home tournament at the Sturgis Composite School on September 6 and 7. The tournament featured six teams: Sturgis, Kamsack, Ituna, Canora, Leroy and Sacred Heart.
