The Whitehawk Arts Council welcomed the Travelling Mabels in concert at the Sturgis Community Hall on February 25. This was the second concert of the season in the Stars for Saskatchewan series.

The Preeeville Atom Pats recorded a pair of wins, advancing them to the league final playoffs. The Pats took on Churchbridge on February 27 and won 11-3 win.

Avid snowmobilers from across the area joined together to have a fun afternoon of snowmobiling during the annual Okla snowmobile derby on February 28. The Okla derby organizers were thrilled to have 49 sleds entered in the derby.

The Town of Preeceville has always had some moderate ski trials for individuals to enjoy but they were short and not maintained properly and that led to limited use.

Nicole Rolfes of Lloyminister was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in January of 2012, but was not about to let the disease get her down. Her love and passion for snowmobiling turned into a mission to raise awareness and funds for research.

Cara Zubko鈥檚 career in hockey began at an early age and skyrocketed through the years. Her love of the game has kept her goals in line as she continues her hockey career.

The Roughrider Snowmobile club hosted its third-annual family snowmobiling day on February 21. It was held at the May Lake Shack located on the Trans Canada Trail about two kilometres from Sturgis.
