The Sturgis Elementary students performed their Christmas concert in the Sturgis Composite School to a full gymnasium on December 13. Brad Cameron, principal, was the master of ceremonies for the evening.

The Endeavour Recreation Board held its startup meeting on November 26.

The building that previously had been known as the Sturgis Elementary School has a new lease on life. The Town of Sturgis took over the ownership of the building a few months after the school amalgamated with the high school in June 2017.

The Sturgis branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation hosted its annual antler measuring event at the Sturgis Arena on December 9 when club members took in 18 sets of antlers and one bear skull to be scored.

Children and adults alike enjoyed skating alongside Santa Claus in the Skate with Santa event in Preeceville on December 7. 鈥淚t was a great time for everyone,鈥� said Andrea Tonn, recreation co-ordinator.

Ollie Maksymiw of Preeceville said a tearful goodbye to her Ukrainian relatives while in Ternopil, Ukraine from October 2 to 20. "The trip was bittersweet as this will likely be the last time that I will be making the trip there,鈥� said Maksymiw.

The annual festival of trees encouraged individuals to take the time to appreciate what鈥檚 special during the busy Christmas season, said Amanda Balyski, organizer.
