Former Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) student RJ Skinner had an interesting year over the past eight months or so and by the sounds of it, next school year has the makings to be way better.

The Alexander's Menswear Yorkton Junior Cardinals completed their second sweep of the SESBL post season and it could not have come at a better time.

Deer Park Golf Course has been keeping quite busy as of late. With two open tournaments held in the past six days, including the ladies' open Monday morning, the seniors take over this morning for a day of golf.

The Yorkton Cardinals were part of the 2010 Provincials of Junior AAA baseball over the weekend. When all was said and done, the Raymore Renegades were crowned provincial champions but the numbers on the scorecard still read 9-9.

The Yorkton Cardinals missed the Western Major Baseball League playoffs, but they did end the season on a winning note, topping Regina 2-1 at Jubilee Park last Tuesday.

The Ultimate Stride hockey camp will be taking place at the Gallagher Centre over the next four days. It gives young hockey players a chance to develop their shooting and skating skills in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Alexander's Yorkton Junior Cardinals are scheduled to play three games this week, including a home date last night against the Willowbrook Royals.

Deer Park Golf Course will be holding three open tournaments through the course of the month of August. Starting with the Deer Park Junior Open, scheduled for Aug. 4 (today at 11 a.m.). The Deer Park Men's Open will be held on Aug.

When Jordan Matechuk headed to Taylor Field Saturday afternoon as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (his second trip there as a pro), there were a few crazy fans in attendance.
