The provincial motocross races were held in Yorkton recently and one of the the top finishes belonged to Columbia School student, Haylen Langelier. He must have felt like a boy playing against the men. Only thing is that Langelier is a boy.

Raiders get first win over ND

For the first time this season, the first half of a Regina Intercollegiate Football League (RIFL) matchup in Yorkton played out more like a hockey game then a football game. The numbers on the scoreboard at the half read 1-0.

Deer Park Ironman

Deer Park Municipal golf course will be holding its annual Ironman Octoberfest Scramble Oct. 2 with a 12 noon shotgun start. The golf course is played from the toughest pins and tees Must have a total team handicap of 30.

SHHS girls' volleyball team defeats local rivals

The Sacred Heart senior girls volleyball team took part in the 16-team Mega Wish volleyball tournament in Regina this past weekend. The Lady Saints began the tournament facing their Highway 10 rivals Melville.

CTTCS track meet results

The Christ the Teacher Catholic School division cross country meet was held Sept. 22 at Sacred Heart High School. The meet included 340 runners (Gr. 1-4) and 129 runners (Gr. 5-8)Racers are listed by category, name, school and finishing time.

The Yorkton United FC enjoyed considerable success this summer at all levels.

Harvest go even on opening road trip

The Yorkton Harvest Midget AAA hockey club opened up the 2010-11 season on the road with games in Beardy's and Saskatoon, and came back home with a win and a loss.

Parkland valley

The SSFA Parkland Valley District annual meeting will be held on Oct. 27 at 10 a.m., at the Gallagher Centre. The meeting will include the election of officers and the format for the 2011 Games.
