Due to a physician shortage in Canora Primary Health Care, regularly scheduled visiting physician services have been put on hold at the Invermay Health Centre and the Norquay Health Centre, according to a release from Sunrise Health Region.

On June 12, Linda Thickett of Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, and formerly of Canora, received a national award in recognition of her work with disabled individuals. The award was presented during a special СÀ¶ÊÓƵ in Yellowknife.

Two physicians have been recruited for the Canora area to join the team of Dr. Mala Singh, Dr. Victor Obiora, and Lorri Dennis (nurse practitioner). At the end of May, Dr.

Top academic and athletic students were acknowledged for their achievements at the Preeceville School awards day on June 19. A special presentation was made to those who helped in making the Breakfast Cafe open every morning.

The Preeceville Mackenzie Society Ventures annual general meeting was held on June 18 during which service awards were presented and a new executive was elected. Jackie Blotski chaired the meeting .

The Sturgis Community Hall and Sturgis Station House Museum committees teamed up to bring back a taste of the past.
