Sturgis students’ accomplishments celebrated at awards day

Numerous students at the Sturgis Composite High School received awards on June 19 to celebrate their accomplishments throughout the school year.

Numerous students at the Sturgis Composite High School received awards on June 19 to celebrate their accomplishments throughout the school year.

Vice-principal Kipp Bayer welcomed the students and thanked teachers and students for a great school year.

Each grade teacher was responsible for presenting certificates and acknowledging each student’s participation in academic, athletic and school activities.

Awards for most-improved students in grades 6 to 12 went to Kyla Tomas, Seth Rayner, Jalen Bayer, Hannah Charlebois, Arlee German, Donnie Gannon and Cole Bilanchuk.

Spirit awards were presented to students who displayed school spirit and took part in school activities. The awards were presented to the following students in grades 6 to 12: Shae Peterson, Shanae Olson, Sierra Meroniuk, Peyton Secundiak, Tessa Rehaluk and Steven Kardynal.

Honour roll awards for students who received a minimum 80 per cent average throughout the school year were presented to: Grade 6, Kyla Tomas and Eloisa Vicente each attained a 90.3 per cent average; Shae Peterson, 87.6per cent; Tiara Yagelnisky, 84.3 per cent; and Wyatt Anaka, 83 per cent; Grade 7, Shanae Olson, 93.3 percent; Rayanne Westermann, 90.6 per cent; Carter Masley, 89.6 per cent; Hannah Gerbrandt, 88.3 per cent; Ethan Innes, 88 per cent; Seth Rayner, 86.6 per cent; Reanna Solonas, 86.3 percent; Kale Musey, 86 percent; Knute Vallevand, 85.6 per cent; Zane Bayer, 85 percent; Katelyn Chernyk, 84 per cent; Kacie Meroniuk,83 per cent; Jorden Kardynal, 80.6 per cent; and Eden Antoniuk, 80 per cent; Grade 8, Garrett Bazuik, 92.6 percent; Audrey Vargas, 90.6per cent; Sierra Meroniuk, 86.3 per cent; Kara Pasiechnik, 83.3 per cent; and Jalen Bayer, 81.6 per cent; Grade 9, Cole Kowalchuk, 90.3 percent; Kaeleigh Folk, 89.6 percent; Peyton Secundiak, 89.3 per cent; Tyler Antoniuk, 87 per cent; Bo Babiuk, 85 percent; and Jamie Messenger, 81.3 per cent; Grade 10, Rhianna Olson, 94 per cent; Allison Sopel, 91.6 per cent; Kristiaan Rayner, 91.3 percent; Nicole Tureski, 89.3 per cent; Kyle Teron, 87 per
