Over the weekend the Painted Hand Casino 10th annual Pow Wow took place at the Gallagher Center. The Pow Wow season runs from June through September with a different Pow Wow happening somewhere every weekend.

People with intellectual disabilities in Yorkton are benefiting from enhanced day-program services and supports, following the official reopening today by the Saskatchewan Abilities Council of renovated day-program facilities in that community.

On May 15 a miscellaneous shower was held at the Blue Bonnet for Amanda Waldenberger, a bride to be for Tyler Pilopow on June 12. A nice crowd of ladies came out. The future bride was escorted by maid of honour Kerri Ann Daniels.

Woman granted discharge for marijuana

Linda Maddaford and her family were relieved last Wednesday when a judge granted the 55-year-old woman an absolute discharge after growing marijuana without a licence. Maddaford was charged by RCMP in July last year for possession of marijuana.

Additional apprentice positions developed

More apprentices will receive training as a result of a funding increase of $1.95 million to the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC).
