New fire dispatcher approved

The City of Yorkton has been forced to look for an alternate provider of dispatching services for the City's fire department. "Since 2002 Yorkton Fire Protective Services has been utilizing the services of Med-Com Comprehensive Dispatching Services.

On June 4th, 5th, and 6th the 2nd annual Parkland Regional Artists Development Opportunity (PRADO) weekend took place in Yorkton. PRADO is shared between three communities; Yorkton, Melville, and Esterhazy. This years show took place in Yorkton.

Saskatchewan's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) of 5.0 per cent is the lowest in Canada and well below the national unemployment rate of 8.1 per cent, according to today's Statistics Canada Labour Force Survey.
