The Government of Saskatchewan has once again proclaimed October as Agriculture Month in Saskatchewan. Recently, Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart kicked off the month of events with industry partners at the Westview Co-op in Saskatoon.

Canadian farmers are in a strong position to meet their financial obligations, despite plateauing farm incomes and slowing land appreciations, according to FCC’s 2016-2017 Outlook for Farm Assets and Debt Report.

Grade 4 classes from Saltcoats, Dr. Brass, Churchbridge, St. Paul’s, St. Mary’s, Invermay and Canora schools were in Yorkton this past Tuesday and Wednesday to help harvest the Pizza Farm.

The word ‘Yorkton’ has become something of a selling point for a local firm accessing a potentially massive market. TA Foods is now bottling cold pressed virgin flax oil under the label ‘Yorkton Flax Oil’.
