Scammers pretending to be SaskPower are sending e-transfer emails

SaskPower is asking customers to verify the email address in their inboxes.

REGINA - SaskPower is warning customers to be on alert regarding emails in their inboxes.

On Monday, the power company said emails claiming to be SaskPower Carbon Council have been sent to customers around Saskatchewan. The emails state the recipient will be e-transferred a certain amount of money from the Government of Saskatchewan.

SaskPower said they do not send e-transfers. Additionally, the company wants customers to check email addresses before sending any information.

If a customer has clicked on these emails, SaskPower said to call law enforcement.
