With the 小蓝视频 Sask Lacrosse League Playoff Tournament kicking off here in Weyburn on June 21st, the Weyburn Lacrosse Association took the opportunity to honour National Indigenous Peoples Day.
Historically, Lacrosse originated as an Indigenous sport. It is also known as the Medicine Game or the Creators game.
The Eagle Claw Drumming and Singing Group, from Kawacatoose First Nation, shared Traditional First Nations songs with the community to help officially kick off the tournament on June 21 at Crescent Point Place, and to honour National Indigenous Peoples Day.
The tournament will continue play through to Sunday, June 23.
