On Monday, B.C. announced the extension of all COVID-19 measures through the May long weekend. Alberta hardly lifted their restraints. Manitoba expanded their restrictions amid the third wave as well.

Spam calls were the trending topic Thursday morning in the Estevan area. People were complaining about receiving a series of calls from Tunisia in a short period of time. It had to be a scam.

When Kevin Kinard was seven years old, his school went on a field trip to Arkansas’ Crater of Diamonds State Park. For the last 26 years, he has been going back to the park in search of diamonds. It is not a crazy quest.

The main topic this past week has been the weather. We are finally getting some moisture. We would have preferred getting rain than snow but grateful with the moisture we did get. At one point, it was almost like a blizzard out.

Hope everyone enjoyed their spring break. Now students will have two weeks of online learning, thanks to this pandemic showing its face once again. Good luck students, I’m sure you would just as soon be back at school with your friends and teachers.

Saundra Corkish enjoyed the Easter weekend at Muenster. She visited with Keith and Lori Hinz, Jared, Alyssa and Jennifer. Happy 55th anniversary to Dan and Carol Nicurity. Their anniversary was on April 2.

There are eight staircases, three elevators, 28 fireplaces, 35 bathrooms, a swimming pool, bowling lanes, and 132 spaces that have been renovated numerous times to be bedrooms, a music room, art studio, nursery, offices, games room and on it goes.

The good news is we are getting a lot of vaccines in the arms of a lot of people and it is saving lives. As of the writing of this, 457 Saskatchewan people have died of COVID-19-related illness — a devastating number.

Cheers: Cheers to the three full-grown deer who visited a local home recently. They stopped on the driveway, the lawn, and stood right outside an open bedroom window.

Last week I spoke to a very dedicated and strong community member. She may not have all the advantages many other people have, but she definitely loves life, sees the problems she can help solving and wants to change the world for herself and others.
