The Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show is gearing up for a two-day exhibition at the Weyburn fair grounds on Wednesday and Thursday, June 5 and 6, featuring two high-profile keynote speakers, Vivian Krause and Rex Murphy.

Every two years, the movers and shakers of the oil industry converge on Weyburn for the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, and this year鈥檚 show promises to be as big and exciting as ever.

There is optimism for the future of the oil industry in Canada, but there are some major challenges that need to be dealt with first, said Weyburn oilman Dan Cugnet in an interview.

The owner-operators of an established service rig company, Jonathan and Tyler Kmita, are 鈥渃autiously optimistic鈥� about the future of the oil industry in the southeast 鈥� but only if there鈥檚 a change in government in October.

The owners and employees of Jerry Mainil Ltd. have been fighting for the oil and gas industry in southeast Saskatchewan, and will be continuing that fight as they carry on with the business started 58 years ago by Jerry Mainil.
