Weyburn Airbourne Gymnastics athletes take in two competitions

The athletes from the Weyburn Airbourne Gymnastics Club attended the Queen City Gymnastics Competition on March 24-26 in Regina, at the Queen City Gymnastics Club.

WEYBURN – All of the athletes from the Weyburn Airbourne Gymnastics Club attended the Queen City Gymnastics Competition on March 24-26 in Regina, at the Queen City Gymnastics Club.

This included Interclub 1 (three athletes), Interclub 2 (six athletes), CCP3 (eight athletes), CCP4 (four athletes), Xcel Gold (one athlete), CCP7 (two athletes), and CCP8 (one athlete).

From Interclub 1, Ava Nelson earned the highest level ribbon, red on vault, floor, and all around. Gracie Killian and Brooklyn Nelson both also earned red on vault.

From Interclub 2, Leah Goski earned red on vault; Aubree Lawrence earned red on beam and floor; Sienna Walkeden earned red on vault, beam, floor, and All Around; Jozi O’Hara earned red on vault, bars, floor, and All Around. 

From CCP3, age 9, Payton Bell placed fourth on vault and sixth on bars; for age 10, Shay Warren placed fifth on vault and fourth on beam; for ages 11-13, Isabelle Cugnet placed seventh on vault, tied for seventh on bars, second on beam, tied for fifth on floor, and fourth All Around. Sadie Hodgkin placed second on vault, first on bars and floor, tied for sixth on beam, and placed second All Around. 

In the CCP4 group, Eliza Gall placed third on vault, and tied for sixth on bars; Avery Fleck placed sixth on vault and beam; Sophie Pollock placed fourth on vault and beam, tied for sixth on bars, fifth on floor, and fourth All Around.

Mackenzie Pulfer placed second on vault, third on bars, first on beam, fourth on floor, and earned the Gold Medal in the All Around, making her the top level 4 at this competition.

From Xcel Gold, Rachel Keller placed sixth on vault.

From CCP7, Hannah Furgason placed eighth on vault, beam, and floor, and Peyton Lokken placed seventh on vault, tied for sixth on bars, and placed eighth All Around.

From CCP8, Karis Gerle placed fifth on bars and beam.

On March 31-April 2, Airbourne Gymnastics attended the Springers Invitational in Yorkton.

From Interclub 1, Ava Nelson earned the highest level ribbon, red on vault, floor and All Around; Gracie Killian earned red on vault, and Brooklyn Nelson also earned red on vault and floor.

From Interclub 2, Leah Goski, Kya Sauter and Quinn Kosior all earned red on vault; Aubree Lawrence earned red on vault and beam; Jozi O’Hara earned Red on Vault and Bars. Sienna Walkeden earned red on vault, beam, floor and All Around.

From CCP3, Shay Warren placed seventh on beam; Isabelle Cugnet placed fourth on vault; Lexi Heimlick placed first on bars, eighth on floor, and sixth All Around; Sadie Hodgkin placed third on vault, fourth on bars, second on beam, first on floor, and second All Around.

From CCP4, ages 8-11: Eliza Gall placed second on Vault, fifth on Bars, and eighth All Around. For ages 12-14, Avery Fleck placed seventh on vault and floor, fifth on bars and beam, and fifth All Around; Sophie Pollock placed second on vault, first on bars, seventh on beam, fourth on floor, and fourth All Around; and Mackenzie Pulfer placed third on vault and bars, second on beam, sixth on floor, and third All Around.

For CCP7, Peyton Lokken placed fifth on vault and bars, seventh on beam and floor, and sixth All Around.

Airbourne Gymnastics will have another regular competition on Thursday and Friday, April 6-7, as well as one near the end of April before Provincials in May.
