Estevan Sharks athletes hit the pool in Regina tournaments

Athletes with the Estevan Sharks water polo program competed in different divisions at a tournament in Regina.

REGINA – Members of the Estevan Sharks water polo club were busy Nov. 25 and 26, as all divisions had their community league tournaments in Regina.

The Mini Blue Sharks consisted of rookies in the water. They ended with a 1- 4 record. The Mini White Sharks were the veteran team. They won their four games and tied for first with a shootout to finish the day.

The atom boys finished 4-0-1 and remain undefeated in league play. They were led by Royce Milford, Dalton Maley and Carter Smelt.

The Estevan Sharks had one atom girl, Meredith Knoll, in the tournament. She played on a combined Weyburn/Estevan team. They finished with a 2-1-1 record and also ended the day with an exciting shootout for second/third place.

Royce Milford and Dalton Maley joined with Weyburn on the second day to compete in the bantam tournament.  They excelled in the age group above them and finished with a record of 4-1.

Jennika Lithinicum represented Estevan in both bantam and open women's league. She had an extremely strong showing in both tournaments with her teams finishing 2-1-1 and 2-2, respectively, during the weekend. 

Last up was the open men's division. Tyler Gillies and Keegan Mennie-Kindlein played with Saskatoon and finished 1-4 on the day.
